Kim Fowler started The Portable Chef in 1996 armed with 12 years of
restaurant management and catering experience and a Theatre/Media
Arts degree from KU. 15 years later she, her mom, Jeri, and an
accomplished core of fabulous women are going strong. Kim has
incredible passion for table design and she loves mixing the unexpected.
She says her crew loves what they do because, “Each event is its own
production and you must treat it that way.” That girl can cook! And let’s
not even get her started on the dance floor!

| Is well known around town. Her lemon tea cake with raspberry filling put The Portable Chef on the map. Her cakes are so moist we have to cut huge pieces…..There goes our food cost! Jeri is also our talented seamstress (note our 100s of accent fabrics and cloths) and a fine book keeper. We don’t know how she does it- we’re just happy she does! |
